Artist Statement

My medium-of-choice is watercolor. I integrate drawing, acrylic, varnish, gesso, collage &/or paper sculpture into
my paintings, as well. Over the years, my subject matter
has moved from realistic to non-objective. I begin each painting with an energetic application of color as if it were
moving through space. Then I allow my involvement with
the colors, layers and movement to influence the direction
of the design. As the painting evolves, the final resolution
becomes the finished composition.
